POSITION SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will be providing Level 3 support, as a part of the Sustaining Engineering team, for the company’s proprietary enterprise NAS servers while serving as an interface between the support and development organizations.

This position serves as the hub between field product support and ongoing product development/maintenance of field deployments; additionally, provides direction on software and firmware field upgrades, documentation for support, and training to the support team for the duration of the product (and major sub-component) lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Primary:

  • Provide in-depth technical assistance, primarily with storage related issues
  • Respond to field support escalations and provide troubleshooting/diagnostic assistance
  • Developing diagnostic methods and tools required to improve troubleshooting and repair
  • Interface with storage vendor engineering resources as needed on complex issues
  • Utilization of lab resources to replicate issues, and provide in-house diagnostic guidance
  • Provide recommendations and feedback to development for ongoing product diagnostic improvements
  • Work with existing ticket tracking systems for field engagements for escalated issues
  • Development of necessary documentation and delivery of training to the field support team

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is support of the Software Verification Test lab, which includes the operation of software test verification suites and the configuration and maintenance of the test lab systems. Responsibilities:

  • Execute software verification test suites. These are typically scripts that are themselves in the test phase and that run in conjunction with a software test harness (the scripts use Perl, Python, Tcl, bash, and manual operations). Identify, analyze and document test results and issues for the developers.
  • Configure, maintain and document the equipment in the Software Verification Test lab. This equipment consists primarily of server and client PCs, LAN and SAN infrastructure, disk arrays, analyzers, test equipment and flash-based, embedded Linux systems.
    Configuration activities include adaptor board installation and configuration.
  • Configure, maintain, install and document the software in the Software Verification Test systems. This software includes various Windows and Linux operating systems, various SAN test tools and various test automation utilities.
  • Configure, maintain and document the network in the Software Verification Test systems. This consists of 100 Mb LAN, GbE SAN and 10 GbE SAN infrastructures.
  • Configure, maintain and document the equipment in the Software Development laboratory, which is used to develop and test the company’s iSCSI Storage systems. The configurations are similar to that in the Software Verification Test lab.
  • Troubleshoot configuration problems in the lab.
  • Be the "go-to" person for configuration changes, upgrades and lab issues for the software department.
  • Move and lift lab hardware.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in the installation and administration of Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, and Linux (Red Hat ES 4.2 and/or SuSE 10). The ability to rapidly learn Vista and Longhorn.
  • Proficient in LAN setup using managed switches with optical interconnections as well as copper. A thorough understanding of subnets, TCP/IP deployment, Windows directory shares and NFS file system mounts are required. VPN and LAG configuration is a plus.
  • Experience in a development or test lab supporting development engineers is a plus.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills with hardware and software configuration.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel. Visio is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of RAID technology. Basic knowledge of iSCSI is a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a member of our Software Quality Assurance team, this individual will provide software testing for the Company's leading edge storage management products and contribute to the qualification of storage management offerings and feature test strategy. He/she will also participate in the full product development cycle, starting at requirements and architectural verification, through to validating customer level acceptance of the production products.

The successful candidate will develop feature and system level test strategies and test plans based on Marketing Requirements Documents and Engineering Specifications, as well as an understanding of the customer s deployment needs. More specifically, this person will:

  • Directly participate in test plan and test case development
  • Address storage device specific test areas with appropriate coverage
  • Write regression test scripts per plan
  • Design and build effective regression, performance, scaling and storage test-beds
  • Evaluate and recommend test related tools
  • Execute test cases per test plan
  • Collect data and report on faults
  • Support the engineering team in debugging issues, isolating root cause and assisting in problem resolution
  • Work within engineering practices to maintain, modify, and enhance existing quality methods & processes

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Demonstrated skills in QA tools/techniques. Must be comfortable working in Windows and Unix environments (tools, utilities, scripting and automation) and have significant knowledge of test automation. Software testing and test tools development; experience using C/C++, scripting languages such as Unix Shell, Perl, PHP, Python, Tcl. Tools: I/O generation and performance analysis tools.

Cross-platform storage experience along with a strong working knowledge of various storage array subsystems including those from IBM, EMC, HDS and HP are highly desirable. In depth knowledge of associated management applications and experience setting up and deploying small, medium, and large storage arrays (e.g. Xyratex, Engenio, HDS) is required.

Experience integrating SAN Operating Systems with external devices/equipment such as multivendor hosts, OS s and back-end RAID arrays. Working experience with hosts and OS s including PCs, W2K, Unix, Solaris, Linux.

Storage Networking (FC, iSCSI), experience is required. Experience with storage array manipulation standards (e.g. SMI-S) required.

Experience with other pieces of storage interconnect infrastructure (switches, directors, HBAs) a plus. Experience with data gathering protocols (e.g. SNMP) essential.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As an early member of the company’s Quality Organization you’ll join a small, dedicated team of engineers focused on developing an innovative new storage appliance. Your primary job will be to provide product technical support to customers during beta and product release. You will work closely with the Company test and engineering teams to insure our products meet customer expectations. You will also support the Quality campaign by building and executing test tools. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide company customers hardware and software technical support, including configuration assistance and troubleshooting of server nodes and other peripheral networking equipment
  • Provide customer advocacy for documentation and timely resolution of issues, and for problem reproduction and escalation
  • Document and reproduce customer related application storage and networking problems, and coordinate fixes through QA and Engineering as required
  • Manage critical customer accounts and escalation requests
  • Work with Engineering and Technical Marketing to clearly document and distribute FAQs for knowledge transfer and consistently accurate resolutions
  • Document all actions taken toward resolving customer issues in contact tracking database
  • Develop common question and answer documentation to be included in department knowledge base
  • Be able to work with engineers to create sets of regression and correctness tests (automated)
  • Develop and implement new test cases from product and customer requirements
  • Manage hardware and software resources for testing

Essential Functions:

The candidate will deliver high-quality technical assistance for company storage appliance products through phone, web/email communication. Independently debug broad, complex, and unique storage system and network issues. Support the QA test effort by designing new test cases and create automated test scripts in Perl, C, C++, or use internal Test Harnesses. Perform regression test and verify bugs fixes as required. Have knowledge of system performance testing.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate will have a demonstrated track record of providing outstanding customer service in a networked systems environment including a strong ability to accurately gather information and resolve technical product issues. You must possess excellent knowledge in NFS, CIFS, Linux, Microsoft Windows, file systems and browsers and have proven skills in supporting end-users and resolving product issues for network storage applications. You should also have experience in test planning and documentation. You must have at least 8 years of experience in networking. Knowledge of scripting languages (csh, perl, awk, cgi, etc.) and programming languages (C, C++)
